**Ran across this in the Tavern and felt that it would be a good addition to our spotlights section. Joty is a long time member dating way back and has been the mastermind behind some the greatest stories seen around the site. The following is an interview with himself regarding some of his plot ideas.

Well, I was looking for maybe a better turn out than one other… like maybe two but meh :p Well, as par the usual… I have new ideas! But this time, its solely for the CoL featuring other factions. And instead of just writing a summary for it that left people saying “I don’t get it”, I have brought back one of my favorite Fourth Wall interview segments… “Tavern Talk!” and basically interviewed myself :p

Liandra: Hey everyone, we are back for a renewed season in our new home on Portalstones.com! And as a special season opener, we have as our special guest my creator, Tyrel “Joty” Murdaugh!

*Appluase resounds in the studio audience*

Joty: Hey Liandra, longtime no write, huh?

Liandra: Well, no. You’ve been less active than usual.

Joty: Well, I’m kinda busy with the Air Force and all.

Liandra: How is that working out for you anyways?

Joty: Life is good. I smell like jet fuel a lot and I eat a lot of PBJO sammiches.

Liandra: PBJO?

Joty: Peanut butter, Jelly and Oil.

Liandra: Ew.

Joty: You get used to it.

Liandra: I’m sure. Anyway, you’ve made your way over to Portalstones from our old home. But before the move you and several others were a part of a big name project “Rising the Sun” and the Decalogue storylines.

Joty: Yeah. Me, Allien, Davin and Julian. And the storylines were really not the event actually. Not originally anyway. There was something bigger coming, but time and me going away to Basic Training didn’t allow it. So we were happy with what we did get to.

Liandra: What were the ideas behind those two storylines? I know that the Decs stared many different characters and seemed like stand alone stories really. While RTS was the main course.

Joty: Well, what some people don’t realize is that RTS was a part of Decalogue. It was part 4 of it I believe. The Decs were meant to be a spine and a build of what was to come staring two or more characters that stories intertwined. A lotof things were going to change when this was done. Two factions were having the Status Quotas changed drastically. Those two being the Shadow and the Children of the Light. That being said, there are still six more that are upcoming. And those will be told soon.

Liandra: So this isn’t the last we seen of them?

Joty: Nope. There are more things coming up. With characters that will change the world as we see it in PS.

Liandra: Well, can you tell us who those characters are?

Joty: Mai, Atlan Dellence, Shadarmael, Arica, Jenisi, Jo’taro, Goshen, Thorin, the Blue Ajah, the CoL, Leilys Sahren, the Black Ajah, the Yu Watase and the Vron, and the Second Chosen.

Liandra: Wow, That’s a lot. And all in just six stories?

Joty: Yep.

Liandra: Well what are those storylines? Can you divulge them?

Joty: Yep. Just shoot em out.

Liandra: Mai.

Joty: Mai’s storyline is really intertwined with Atlan, Shadarmael, Leilys, and the SC. Its all about her coming to terms with who she has become now and what that means. Her actions have started a snow ball effect, one that she’ll later regret. Right now she’s a fugitive from everyone. The Tower knows now without a shadow of a doubt that Mai has been playing for the other team so she‘s wanted. And the Shadow knows that she’s to blame for the demise of the Darkfriend High Council and have sent everyone they can after her. In the beginning she’s hiding in Kandor as the caretaker of an Orphanage. However, that cover is blown and she has to escape. So she goes to the only person she thinks can help her. Shadarmael. But he wont help her for free. Shadarmael will want something in return and that’s where Atlan comes in.

Liandra: What of Leilys? [* Note: Leilys is a Black sister posing as a member of the Yellow Ajah. She is also Mai’s adoptive sister. They have known each other their entire lives almost.]

Joty: She’s the Judas of the story. She makes the ultimate betrayal against Mai and its what cause her to go to Shadarmael in the first place. When Leilys does what she does, Mai will feel not only betrayed, but very hurt. These two are like sisters in every way that counts. What makes this story a good one are the motives. Mai’s not a bad person on the inside. She really isn’t, and because of this she really and genuinely wants to be a good person again, but she knows that that is impossible. Wherein areas, Leilys is someone who sought out the Shadow and in the end only wants revenge for her own personal demons. She sees what Mai is doing as a betrayal to everything she thought they stood for.

Liandra: Okay. What about Arica?

Joty: Arica’s story is under wraps right now. As me again in a few months. But I can say that it does have to do with the CoL captured in RtS, and the CoL that are still out there. Oh and the number 1117 is really important too.

Liandra: Oh? And it means?

Joty: Sorry, can’t tell that right now.

Liandra: Okay, fair enough. Since we’re on the subject of the Children of the Light, what are the their role post RtS?

Joty: Post RtS, they’re in shambles. They suffered a big lost in that campaign and are now directionless and broken into separate groups. One will be those who believed that the attack was wrong and they have basically gone against everything they believed in using tools of the Power. This group will renounce their ways and fall under a leader no one is expecting. And when I say no one, I do mean this is coming from way left field. Another group will reform into the Children of the Dark. They’re sorta like the Black Ajah, except that they are taught under something call the Book of Shadows. A book that prophesizes that the end is near for the Light. The third group will be in treaty with the White Tower and that’s all I can say about that one.

Liandra: And what of Jo’taro De’kal? From what I hear, he survived RtS and is leaving the Tower. Where is the former false Dragon, Lord Captain Commander, Vron going now?

Joty: Jo has been running for the past few years. Ever since he died and came back, he’s been really running from himself. So expect closure for him to come from his past. And as for him leaving… yep he’s leaving the Vron and the Tower. And trust me, they are not happy with where he ends up.

Liandra: And what of Tamerlane? [*Note: Tamerlane and Jo’taro are bonded]

Joty: The bond is still there. And that’s what leads into trouble.

Liandra: Hold that train of thought Jo, that’s all the time we have for today. Be here tomorrow for part two of our interview. *applauds* Perfect choice for our first member spotlight. I think Joty is the definitive Portalstones member; incredibly creative and talented, plays well with others, and posts.. on occasion! He may not have been around quite as long as some of the other "Legends", but I think the term definitely suits him and perhaps he's even leading the ranks.
